Summary of Events 2010
Lyme Regis is a busy little seaside town with an enormous amount of activities, festivals and attractions going on all year round. Listed below are some of the major events but for more detail do try the following websites;

December 18th - 31st March - Sheds of Lyme - Philipot Museum, Lyme Regis. From allotment sheds to bathing huts, cricket pavillions to cattle byres - the museum's winter exhibition. Feb 8th Inaugural Recital by Philip Scriven (Organist of Lichfield Cathedral) of the new Skrabl organ. Admission by free ticket, only on application to Lyme Regis Tourist Information Centre on 01297 442138, retiring collection to the organ appeal. 7.30pm St Michaels Church.

March Sat 20th - Bridport Chamber Orchestra, Conductor David Price, Saxophone Soloist Alison Young, Organ soloist Alex Davies. Purcell - Chacony, Respighi - Ancient Airs and Dances, Dave Heath - The Celtic, Mozart - Divertimento No. 1 in D, Finzi - Romanz, Poulenc - Organ concerto in G minor. Tickets £10/8. 7.30pm St Michaels Church.

May 9th Blessing of the Boats: Rogation Sunday - when traditionally, the
Lyme Regis Lifeboat
holds a Blessing of the Boats family service outside the boathouse at The Cobb. Wreaths are blessed and taken out to sea by the lifeboat where they are laid to commemorate those lost at sea. The (short) service, with the Lyme Regis Town Band, starts at 3.00pm, everyone is more than welcome to attend.
